Hi there, Explorers! We hope you’re all having a great time in Core Keeper and that you’re enjoying all the new content, features, and secrets in the underground.
And there's nothing that makes me feel more at home in a game than fishing, farming, and cooking, and they're all great in Core Keeper. Fishing works almost like a rhythm game, with each fish struggling to its own "beat.
When you fought Glurch, you may have noticed a bunch of orange slime on the ground. This is not just an environmental hazard — these tiles cause enemies to spawn.
Excellent game. As you probably know, it's basically a top-down version of Terraria or Minecraft, but in my opinion vastly superior to both. Minecraft has hideous visuals, while Core Keeper is beautiful to look at. Terraria has the infuriating issue of being CONSTANTLY bombarded by enemy attacks, always preventing you from doing what you are trying to do. Core Keeper, conversely, is much more respectful of the player, typically allowing you to engage enemies on your own terms. It's also easier to prevent enemies spawning where you don't want them to be. So you have the freedom to build a house, craft items, farm animals and plants, and cook food without being constantly bothered (unless you set up your base in a spot with a lot of enemy spawn tiles, but you can remove those to "cleanse" it anyway as mentioned above).
While we cannot personally respond to each individual report, we do read every single one and we are spending a lot of time investigating issues and working on patches to address these.
But beating bosses also drops good items, unlocks gear, weapons and other things that make it easier to explore and deal with randomly spawned enemies; the statues also act like a crafting workbench, each offering up 3 additional items to craft. Crafting and Items[edit]
Slow-moving slimes may not seem like much of a challenge, but if you stumble across a good-sized bunch, things can take a turn quickly. Not only do they do a surprising amount of damage, but if you die, you’ll also need to head back to that area to reclaim just about everything you had in your pack (only equipment and whatever was in your quickbar will respawn with you).
Create a totally unique base using a variety of different materials and customisations. From the ultimate adventurer’s lair to a cozy underground cottage, shape the underground your way.
Next, craft a watering can and fill it up at the nearest underground lake, and you’ll have crops ready in almost pelo time at all Core Keeper Gameplay — everything grew faster than we expected.
Upon defeating them for the first time, each of the 3 titan bosses gives the player a unique new soul power ability:
If you like games in this genre, then you'll love it, and even if you don't like games in this genre, this could be the one that converts you.
Portal Crafted at significant expense, players can teleport between Portals placed anywhere in the world. Greatly speeding up returning to key locations.
In open world games with a day-night cycle, I'll hop in bed when it gets sun sets and fast-forward to morning. I don't like caves, I don't like mines, I don't like gloom. This isn't true of me in real life, but in games I'm just an outdoorsy, daytime person.
Take it slowly at first, and don’t rush into combat. You’ll eventually be able to craft armor, but don’t prioritize that over keeping the rest of your tools in good working order.
